Pre Care Instructions

For the best possible results, please follow these guidelines before your treatment:

  • 5 days prior to treatment, avoid blood thinners like Advil, aspirin, Aleve, and fish oils. Any blood thinning medication can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. If you need to take an over-the-counter pain reliever, Tylenol is okay.
  • Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before (or after) treatment to avoid extra bruising.
  • Do not use Botox/Dysport/Daxxify if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders.
  • Arrive with a clean face. It is preferred to have all facial makeup removed prior to your appointment.
  • If you become pregnant or start breastfeeding, please give us a call.

For the best possible results, please follow these guidelines before your treatment:

2 weeks prior to treatment:

  • Avoid vaccines of any kind.
  • Avoid dental cleaning or dental work.

1 week before treatment:

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, and Aleve.
  • Refrain from taking supplements like St. John’s Wort, Gingko Biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E.
  • If you’re receiving lip fillers and have a history of perioral herpes, inform your provider to discuss antiviral therapy prior to your appointment.

2 days before treatment:

  • Avoid using topical products like Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or other anti-aging treatments.
  • Refrain from waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or using hair removal creams on the treatment area.
  • Consider starting Arnica supplements to reduce bruising (optional but recommended).

24 hours before treatment:

  • Do not consume alcoholic beverages.

On the day of treatment:

  • Arrive with a clean face, preferably without makeup.
  • A topical anesthetic will be applied to ensure your comfort during the procedure.

  • 2 weeks prior to treatment, avoid sun exposure, spray tans, and tanning lotions to avoid increased risk of hyperpigmentation, as all are considered active tans.
  • 5-7 days prior to treatment, avoid using Retinols/tretinoins.
  • 2 days prior to treatment, avoid exercise, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, or anything that exposes you to heat.
  • It is highly recommended to hydrate very well with water prior to treatment.
  • Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before (or after) treatment to avoid extra bruising.
  • Ensure there are no active skin infections or outbreaks, such as cold sores, in the areas to be treated.
  • Arrive with a clean face. It is preferred to have all facial makeup removed prior to your appointment.
  • If you become pregnant or start breastfeeding, please give us a call.

  • 4 weeks prior to treatment, refrain from laser treatments or chemical peels on treatment areas.

  • 1 week prior to treatment, avoid topical products such as Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Salicylic Acid, hydroquinone or other “anti-aging,” “acne,” and “bleaching” products. Also avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.
  • If on Tretinoin (Retin-A), must stop treatment 6 months prior to any chemical peel.
  • Do not have a chemical peel if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to any of its ingredients. Please inform your provider if you have any questions about this prior to the treatment.
  • Arrive with a clean face. It is preferred to have all facial makeup removed prior to your appointment.
  • If you become pregnant or start breastfeeding, please give us a call.

I understand that for best possible results I should do the following before treatment:

  • 1 week prior to treatment, avoid chemical treatments such as dyes, perms, and relaxers.
  • 5 days prior to treatment, avoid blood thinners like Advil, aspirin, Aleve, and fish oils. Any blood thinning medication can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. If you need to take an over-the-counter pain reliever, Tylenol is okay.
  • Day of treatment, avoid using high-heat treatments like flat irons or curling irons.
  • It is highly recommended to hydrate very well with water prior to treatment.

  • Arrive with clean hair. It is preferred to have all hair products removed prior to your appointment.

  • Attire –wear a shirt that can roll-up above your elbow to allow access to your arm.
  • Hydrate before every IV – the more hydrated you are, the more easily accessible your veins are, making for a more comfortable treatment.
  • Have something to eat – some of the vitamins and minerals can have a temporary blood sugar and blood pressure lowering effect, which can make you feel lightheaded during or after your IV if you haven’t eaten.
  • Get moving – if we are sedentary right before an IV, our vessels may be more difficult to access.
